Elsa Majimbo, the Kenyan internet comedienne who rose to fame during the Covid-19 lockdown, has once again amused her followers with a witty post on X (formerly Twitter). On November 25, 2023, Majimbo posted that: “´If I had Elsa Majimbo money…’ you don’t though. That’s the gag”. The post was a reference to her successful partnerships with luxury brands such as Valentino, MAC and Fenty, as well as her numerous awards and recognition from celebrities and media outlets.

She has been featured on Comedy Central, The Guardian, Forbes and other media outlets. She has won the People’s Choice Award for Favorite African Social Star in 2020 and the Streamy Award for Creator Honor in 2020. She has also appeared on Steve Harvey’s talk show and Netflix’s promotional video for The Queen’s Gambit, where she claimed to be a 15-time chess champion.
