Users started reporting empty timelines while others could not see comments under posts.
While the reason is currently unclear, the social media platform might be back within hours as users flock to Meta owned Threads. The outage has been observed as an global outage affecting not only users in South Africa.
X has been struggling under Elon Musk’s helm from losing advertisers to investigations by the EU over misinformation on its platform and many feature changes and inconsistent leadership changes.
