Mbalula: ANC won’t go into AI generated eZulweni

The African National Congress (ANC) has refuted the claims that it had any dealings with eZulweni Investments, a company that allegedly generated fake invoices and contracts worth millions of rands.

The ANC’s spokesperson, Fikile Mbalula, said that the allegations were baseless and malicious, and that the party had never entered into procurement with eZulweni Investments. He challenged the Sunday Times, which published the report, to provide proof of its claims.

According to the report, eZulweni Investments was liquidated in October 2023 after failing to pay its creditors, including the South African Revenue Service (SARS) and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

Mbalula dismissed these allegations as part of a smear campaign against the ANC, and said that the party had nothing to do with eZulweni Investments or its liquidation. He said that the ANC was a transparent and accountable organisation, and that it had always followed the law and the constitution in its procurement processes.

He also said that the ANC was not afraid of the liquidation threat that eZulweni Investments had issued against the party over a R102 million debt for campaign material for the 2019 elections. He said that the ANC would deal with the matter through the legal process, and that the party was confident that it would not be liquidated.

He said that the ANC was a resilient and strong organisation, and that no one would liquidate it. He also said that the ANC was working on resolving its financial challenges, and that it was confident of winning the next elections.
