Manchester City have been crowned Club World Champions after a thrilling 4 – 0 win over Brazilian Fluminense FC at the King Abdullah Sports City on Friday night.
City which is the only English club to win the Premier league, Champions league, FA Cup, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup in the same year.
Striker Julián Álvarez started the game scoring the first goal in the first minute making it the fastest goal in Club World Cup history.
The Brazilian side’s woes worsened when defender Nuno scored an own goal in the 33rd minute giving City a 2 – 0 lead before the half-time. After the half time Fluminense collected a few yellow cards from their defender and midfielder before Phil Foden’s brillian goal in the 72nd minute.
Álvarez scored the fourth goal for City again in the 88th minute to seal the club’s victory and earning him the Man of the Match title.
